Laura Biagi, Ph.D.


My research has focused on contemplative
studies, which I hope inspires people to see, feel, and hear the details of the places they visit.

Laura Biagi is an entrepreneur, educator, self-improvement coach, and performer. In additional to being a 2018 TEDx DePaul speaker, she has lectured on identity, conflict-resolution, and contemplative pedagogy at conferences and guest talks at DePaul University, the Art Institute of Chicago, Howard University, Xavier University, and the Inside-Out Center.

Dr. Biagi earned a Master of Arts at New York University where studied performance, extended vocal techniques, Deep Listening, and theatre. Following her graduation, Laura lived at Ananda Ashram in Tamil Nadu, India, where she studied Raja Yoga, trained in hatha yoga, pranayama, Sanskrit, Carnatic vocal music, and Bharatnatyam dance. Upon her return to the U.S. and while teaching at Vassar College, Laura received a grant by the Carolyn Fae Endowment to teach courses on yoga and awareness for students, faculty, administrators and staff.

In 2013, Dr. Biagi co-wrote her first book, Saraswati’s Pearls: Dialogues on the Yoga of Sound and since 2016 has been a professor at DePaul University in Chicago. Learn more about Dr. Biagi at
