In the early-1990s, Annette Tomei left a career in commercial real estate to pursue a life-long passion for all things food and drink. She graduated from The French Culinary Institute in 1994 and launched into a second career that has included cooking in some of the most prestigious kitchens in New York City, owning her own restaurant and private chef business serving the ski resorts surrounding Salt Lake City, Utah, and being a private chef catering to several exclusive wineries in the Napa Valley. A self-proclaimed “education junkie” – she has studied viticulture and oenology, and advanced professional wine studies in Napa Valley; she has a Master’s degree in Gastronomy and a certificate in International Spirits from the prestigious Wine and Spirits Education Trust. She enthusiastically shares her extensive knowledge and passion for food and drink with her students in a manner that makes even the most daunting subjects seem approachable. Annette Tomei co-author of Chile Aphrodisia, a contributor to Fork Me, Spoon Me, the Sensual Cookbook, and writes the column Eat and Tell for eatsomethingsexy.com. Ms. Tomei is currently an instructor at The French Culinary Institute and is author of the blog WanderEatAndTell.
