The one snack you can always find in my carry on is... I always have a little baggie of mixed nuts -almonds, cashews, brazil nuts and I always travel with fresh fruit.
Tell us your in-flight rituals. I like to board the flight early to get settled. I never check bags so I like to be sure there is space for my carry-on. I write while I am in flight- I wrote a lot of my first book in the air- it works for me. Otherwise a good article will do. I drink a ton of water because I get really dry from travel. I often move to the back of the plane to stretch.
How do you conquer jet lag once you've arrived? A yoga class or massage when I arrive to my destination always resets my system.
Describe your workout on the road style: I'm more of the outdoor adventurer type. I really love to do anything outside. I love nature- hiking, biking, yoga, as long as the sun is out- I'm outside moving my body.
How do you keep sickness at bay? I eat a healthy vegan diet, I drink lots of green juice and eat a lot of greens- that's what keeps me healthy. When I feel run down I slow down- take a hot salt soak with herbs and oils, I have a massage and take vitamin C and quercetin and lemon water. That usually gets me back on track.
What's your 'go-to' restaurant item? I love a good salad- so no matter where I am in the world I will have a salad. I carry travel sized hemp seeds so I will always bring something like that to fortify my meals on the go.
What do you do to stay grounded? I'm a Taurus so it's in my nature to be grounded. But I would have to say meditation and prayer center me and keep me present. I also shut off my phone and all electronics and phone fast- which I thing helps to keep me present.
What is your preferred method of staying connected with loved ones? FaceTime on the iPhone if not traveling to visit my family. My mom has kittens so my son and I FaceTime with her to see what they are doing.
