Karen Rider, E-RYT 500 came to the practice of yoga over 20 years ago seeking relief from sports injuries and back pain. She quickly discovered the transformative healing powers of yoga and began her journey of traveling around the country to train and learn from some of the top yoga masters in the world in the Iyengar, Ashtanga, Anusara and Vinyasa traditions, as well as with meditation, philosophy ,and Ayurveda scholars. She continues to deepen her studies in all realms of yoga with an emphasis on the the therapeutic aspects of the practice. She fully believes that healing comes from within, incorporating all the limbs of yoga and holistic health. Her teachings are a fusion of all of her trainings with a focus on creative and empowering sequencing, alignment and breath awareness, to help her students gain more strength and flexibility, release pain in the body and to bring more serenity and freedom to their hearts and minds. She enjoys guiding her students to help them recognize their gifts and achieve their optimal health and potential. Karen leads workshops, retreats, and directs Teacher Trainings and is the owner of Be Shri Yoga.
